Managed Webcasting
Q: What's the difference between webcasting and managed webcasting?
- While webcasting usually covers only certain aspects of live event (e.g., encoding or delivery), managed webcasting covers all aspects of a live webcast: production, content acquisition, encoding, delivery, content integration with customer's website, reporting and overall management and coordination.
Q: Can I do live webcast from location that has no access to Internet?
- Yes - iStreamPlanet can acquire content from locations that have no Internet connectivity by uplinking the content to the satellite and downlinking it at our Webcast Operations Center in Las Vegas for encoding and ingestion into content delivery network for distribution.
Q: If my company is at convention center not listed on your location list, can iStream provide service?
- Yes - iStreamPlanet can provide services anywhere in the US and depending on timeline and requirements, no location is too distant, even worldwide.
Q: Why should I choose Windows Media over Flash or vice versa?
- Windows Media has been around a lot longer so stability, reliability and performance in terms of scalability is higher than Flash, especially when it comes to doing live events. On the other hand Flash has less delay on live streams and Flash player adoption rates are in high nineties.
